Epson Robots , have introduced the new Epson RS3 robot, featuring SCARA. The new design of the Epson RS3 robot has higher cycle times and large work envelope access thus opening up new application possibilities. According to Epson Robots, the Epson RS3 robot is the new work space design, which maximises work envelope usage.
The Epson RS3 robot offers a 350mm SCARA arm featuring large quadrangle. Since there is no dead space in the centre of the work envelope, the Epson RS3 robot largest working quadrangle is 494mm2. The Epson RS3 robot has the ability to manoeuvre back under itself for short movements instead of having to move around itself and delivers higher cycle rates. This means more parts processed in less time, while using a fraction of floor space, profiting customers.
The Epson RS3 robot is a zero footprint robot, saving customers valuable floor space. It is also capable of easy integration into compact assembly cells. The work envelope allows for design flexibility with over 360 degrees of axis rotation for omni directional access. The Epson RS3 robot is suitable for lab automation and other process heavy applications, where large quantities of parts are presented to process or testing stations.
