Epitech Products have added stud welded wear studs to the ARCFIX range of stud welding products. The new ARCFIX wear studs are used on ground engaging equipment to reduce wear on surfaces exposed to abrasion.
ARCFIX stud welded wear studs are used on this equipment in open pit and underground mining, quarries, mining maintenance shops and ore preparation plants.
The main benefits of wear studs are:
- High abrasion resistance: In some areas the applied stud welded wear stud pattern retains the mineral debris establishing a dead bed effect, which further improves the wear resistance factor for the equipment.
- Permanent protection, in contrast to wear plates, as the studs will not pop off even when buckets or plates buckle.
- Quick application: Quick application on site is possible using the stud welding process.
- Cost Cutting: Stud welding is quick and precise. Heat is reduced with the consequence of less risk of warping. Wear studs eliminate costly wastage in high wear areas.
ARCFIX wear studs comply with Australian Standards and maintain core hardness after welding of about 55HRc.
