EPICOR Software Corporation has announced the availability of Epicor web services for its end-to-end integrated enterprise suite, e by Epicor.
Built exclusively with Visual Studio .NET and the Microsoft .NET framework, Epicor web services are a sophisticated set of software components that make it easier to integrate and securely share information across systems, both within the enterprise and with customers and suppliers.
The web services also make information more readily available to wireless and other mobile devices.
New web services research from Hurwitz Group, a research, analyst and consulting firm, shows 45 per cent of enterprises are currently implementing web services, with another 36 per cent actively experimenting with these technologies.
The research indicates that midmarket enterprises expect a high degree of business value from the deployment of web services.
Companies indicate they expect to realise the benefits of implementing web services by using them to initially integrate internal along with external business processes.
They also expect to leverage the deployed web services to rapidly reflect any changes to processes.
According to Hurwitz, enterprise application vendors that strategically invest in transforming their applications for deployment as web services have a competitive advantage going forward as market demand increases.
Epicor's next generation of native Microsoft .NET applications is designed to support the web services 'software as a service' delivery model and to empower midmarket companies to achieve rapid results from their enterprise applications at a lower than ever total cost of ownership.
