The eyes have it – so too the face
Enware has introduced combination emergency eye and face washers to its safety deluge range for use around hazardous chemicals and other substances.
The wall and pedestal-mounted safety equipment is part of a of shower and decontamination technology made in Australia to comply with workplace safety regulations.
Enware Australia managing director Paul Degnan says the washers are particularly suitable for use in minerals processing plants.
In what is believed to be a first in Australia, Enware now has third party endorsement for its safety deluge range in line with ANSI Z 358.1 2004 requirements.
“What this means is that all of our relevant deluge products have been independently tested and approved by a registered independent body, the CSIRO,” Degnan says.
The rapid cleansing action of Enware’s combination eye and face washers delivers soft streams of aerated water to quickly cleanse contaminants. Made of stainless steel, they are designed to withstand use in outside locations. Optional high visibility powder-coated finishes in green, yellow, white or orange are available.
Audible and visual alarms are also available to alert staff that first aid is needed; these can also assist emergency personnel find and treat people sooner to help minimise injuries.
