Visualise and Test Working Models Before Going Into Production - Modelling and Prototypes by Envizage

Product/Service Name

Prototyping and Manufacturing Services

ENVIZAGE Advanced Manufacturing Facility

The ENVIZAGE Advanced Manufacturing Facility (AMF) features a comprehensive array of prototyping and rapid manufacturing technology to produce Concept, Functional, Presentation and Pre-production Models. These help designers, engineers, production managers and marketers appraise products and production methods quickly and inexpensively.

Concept Models - most relevant during the initial stages of product design - made from pure or glass-filled nylon (SLS), epoxy resin (SLA) to achieve highest levels of detail, vibrant colour plaster models for representation of assemblies, labelling or FEA output, and from a block of resin board (CNC machined) for the best price/size and accuracy.

Functional Models are the next step - when the product design has reached a level of detail - and can have working parts, hinges and threads. Materials include SLS, CNC machined materials such as production plastic or metal block, vacuum casting in polyurethanes to simulate properties of production plastics, and metal-sand-investment castings offer excellent functionality in the right metal alloy. Widely used for proof of design before die-casting.

ENVIZAGE is continually developing new materials, for example, super strong and lightweight CAP-CARBON with carbon fibre-like performance. Presentation Models go from a Stereolithography (SLA) model with "Strip & Ship" finish (no hand finishing done by us) right through to lifelike fully finished, painted, and assembled prototype that looks like a production item.

Ideal for design review or product launch or in store presentation or industry expo display.

If you require a higher level of finish, our experienced model makers are capable of a huge variety of finishes using our in-house professional spray booth.
Finishes include
  • Transparent/translucent/tinted
  • Gloss
  • Matt
  • Textured finishes
  • Painting to your specified PMS colours or matched to a sample that you provide
  • Chrome looking vacuum metallised parts
  • Assembly and fitment of components including electronics fit-out.
ENVIZAGE works on projects ranging from a single component for a clients' assembly right through to managing the manufacture of prototype engines or consumer devices fitted out with electronics and ready for use.

Projects range from:
  • Aerospace
  • Automotive components and whole panels
  • Automotive interiors (eg. concept cars)
  • Architectural buildings
  • Artificial body parts
  • Defence
  • Consumer good
  • Trophies
  • Motor sport parts
  • Movie props and characters
  • Mining vehicles to scale
  • Medical products
  • Perfume bottles
  • Personal care containers
  • Reconstructive craniofacial surgery
Our technology accepts all 3D CAD/CAM files (eg. CATIA, Autodesk Inventor, ProEngineer, SolidWorks, etc.), and for companies without an in-house design resource, ENVIZAGE works with the CONCENTRIC Engineering Services team to deliver rapid design of tooling and manufacturing data.

With a foundry, injection moulding machine, and vacuum casting and additive fabrication technology, ENVIZAGE also specialises in Rapid Manufacturing (RM). The primary advantage is the cost saving from eliminating tooling. It is possible to produce batches of complex components in a short time-frame. This enables companies to release limited-run products, produce pre-production samples and perform field testing. Another advantage is the ability to customise products on the fly. We are able to manufacture products in their final materials from just a few to 1,000 units.
