Enmin Vibratory Equipment  recently developed a tablet screening station for a quality assurance process at a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.

Quality assurance in the pharmaceutical industry is a critical part of production and no manufacturer can afford to engage in sub-standard equipment or processes. Pharmaceutical manufacturers are assured of quality equipment that meets HACCP standards.  

Enmin Vibratory Equipment developed the tablet screening equipment to ensure tablets and capsules were correctly sized before being sent to subsequent processing involving metal detection screening, weighing and filling. The brief required the equipment to be easily dismantled without the use of tools for cleaning and changing of screen panels.

The vibrating screening equipment is required to accept tablets or capsules in bulk into the integrated hopper where they are then subject to controlled vibration to disengage any tablets or capsules adhering to each other before being presented to the screening station. The screen panels made of specially machined UHMW plastic separate any product that is more aggressively adhered into a collection section for removal.

The screened tablets or capsules are then delivered to a secondary vibratory feeder system fitted with a weighing station. Each batch is weighed and delivered to a micro conveyor, and into the filling operation. Interlocking the weigh station with the vibratory feeders provides a controlled production flow.

The mobile tablet screening station is engineered to be operator friendly for ease of loading of the hopper, release of the hopper using pneumatic cylinders and dismantling the remaining components using quick acting clamps.

Constructed in stainless steel, Enmin’s tablet screening stations meet HACCP requirements in both construction and noise levels.
