Enerpac (A Division of Actuant Corp) showcased a broad range of advanced hydraulic actuation and bolting technologies at the recent Queensland Mining Exhibition QME 2014.

Enerpac used the QME platform to introduce its new Pow’R-LOCK portable lifting system for heavy off-road vehicles to the Australasian market. Featuring a capacity of 200 tonnes (181 metric tonnes), the Pow’R-LOCK system is designed and purpose-built to provide safe and secure lifting for heavy off-highway machinery including trucks, tractors, civil engineering machinery and implements.

Pow’R-LOCK portable lifting system is ideal for application in mining, energy, oil and gas, heavy infrastructure construction and heavy transport industries.

Two features in the Pow’R-LOCK portable lifting system drew the attention of visitors at the Enerpac stand. Enerpac Mining Manager, Mr Warren Baltineshter explained that the Pow’R-LOCK’s automatic locking system impressed visitors who saw this feature as a point of differentiation in the market. An easy-to-use 2-button pendant allows remote operation from up to 6.1 metres away, eliminating the need to manually lock or release the load.

Another feature that was appreciated by the visitors was the simplicity of maintenance of the unit thanks to the easily accessible design.

Key features of Pow’R-LOCK portable lifting system include heavy-duty construction integrating into a rugged mobile cart; high-capacity and compact 700 bar hydraulic cylinder; air-driven hydraulic pump unit with complete valving and control systems; and strokes of 356mm and 622mm in the two versions.

Enerpac also displayed its latest range of non-impact professional bolting technology for joint assembly, controlled tightening and joint separation applications.

Enerpac Regional Manager, Australia and New Zealand, Mr Denis Matulin observes that Enerpac is able to provide their customers the next level of service with more service centres and a huge range of bolting tools. He added that the QME was a great platform for Enerpac to demonstrate the benefits of the Pow’R-LOCK for the first time to the Australasian market.
