Enerpac (A Division of Actuant Corp) has launched its enhanced Collet-Lok family of hydraulic workholding products featuring Depressurized Holding Technology.
The improved Collet-Lok is designed to protect against unintentional loss of clamping, and does not require any hydraulics to maintain clamping force. Compared to traditional workholding, which requires continuous hydraulic pressure, Enerpac Collet-Lok uses an internal mechanical locking system to maintain the clamping force automatically, without hydraulic pressure, indefinitely.
Key enhancements made by Enerpac to improve the Collet-Lok product family include standard Viton seals for better performance in high temperature applications and enhanced chemical resistance to common coolants; bottom flange models with dual porting built-in, bottom and side ports, allowing flexible installation options; and quick lead-time response capability for the complete range of standard Collet-Lok products.
The Collet-Lok family of hydraulic workholding products includes swing clamps, work supports and push cylinders in multiple sizes and mounting methods.
Douglas Lacina, Global Marketing & Engineering Leader for Enerpac explains that loss of clamping force during machining can result in scraped parts, machine damage and downtime. However, Collet-Lok ensures continuous clamping and support thanks to the automation of hydraulic actuation, combined with the security of an internal locking mechanism, even if a hydraulic line is accidentally cut during machining.
He adds that the upgraded design and fast availability make Collet-Lok suitable for their customers’ diverse machining requirements.
Enerpac has also created a separate section in its new E215 Workholding Catalogue, specifically dedicated to Collet-Lok. Collet-Lok webinar classes and an informational video are also offered for customers.
