Hydraulic lifting technologies by Enerpac (A Division of Actuant Corp) were employed to build an elevating dais for use in official tarmac receptions held for visiting heads of state at Canberra International Airport.
A global leader in high-pressure hydraulics, Enerpac produces a wide range of hydraulic tools generally used in heavy industry, manufacturing, construction, engineering, mining, metals, energy, transport workshops and the oil and gas industry.
Enerpac distributor Dave Clifford and his team at South West Hydraulics were asked to supply Enerpac lifting technologies for a rising dais to be used in official tarmac receptions for visiting heads of state, including HM Queen Elizabeth II shortly before her arrival in Australia in October this year.
South West Hydraulics supplied four Enerpac RC-55 single-acting hydraulic cylinders powered by an Enerpac P-39 hand pump to a Canberra Institute of Technology team led by Mr Peter Hansen for constructing the elevating dais.
The four cylinders with strokes of 127mm were complemented by Enerpac A-64 manifold and HC-series hose assemblies, which are also widely used throughout industry for optimum reliability and safety. Mr Clifford said that these Enerpac lifting technologies could be involved in several applications from simple workshop use to big bridge lifts.
The Enerpac cylinders used in the job are part of the latest range of RC Duo models available in Australia in capacities of 5-95 tons with strokes from 16mm to 362mm.
Using high-pressure 700 bar technology to reduce weight and size while maximising compact lifting power, the high-strength alloy steel cylinders are part of an Enerpac range of safety-oriented, energy-saving and labour-saving lifting technologies, which include simple pumps and cylinders as well as synchronous lifters capable of lifting tens of thousands of tons.
Enerpac National Sales Manager Phil Dorahy says that the new RC Duo Series are all extremely rugged and reliable industrial tools that can safely lift D11 bulldozers and locomotives.
A major supplier of 700 bar hydraulic equipment in Australia and New Zealand for over 50 years, Enerpac offers a comprehensive range of lifting, pumping and professional bolting technologies.
