A new highly portable hands-free hydraulic pump has been announced by Enerpac that makes maintenance, fabrication and lifting tasks easier and safer.
The P-392FP series lightweight (7kg) hydraulic foot pump is designed for use in-house, on-site, onshore or offshore where larger and heavier electrical or pneumatic pumps are not needed or not available.
The simple but ingenious high-pressure (700 bar) pump shares the power and versatility of Enerpac’s established ranges of hand pumps, but is actuated by foot so the operator can keep both hand free to manipulate tools, workpieces and job setups.
The foldable and lockable foot pedal enables operators to more safely and efficiently undertake tasks such as cable cutting, crimping, lifting, pressing and pulling, for example.
Its power and flow rate (2.47 cc per stroke oil flow at rated pressure) means hydraulic power and precision can be applied to many jobs encountered on both onshore and offshore construction, engineering, manufacturing, mining and petroleum sites.
The light but robust pump – combining steel frame and handle with a 492cm aluminium reservoir – features two-speed operation to reduce foot pedal strokes by as much as 78 per cent over one-speed pumps.
Safety is enhanced by a controllable load return circuit that gives improved control under load. The circuit also enhances productivity by offering faster no-load retraction of spring or gravity return single-acting hydraulic cylinders. A large release valve foot pad offers easy control for slowly metering loads down. An internal pressure relief valve gives overload protection.
