A new 110 kVA turnkey standby power generation plant from Energy Power Systems Australia was installed at Port Macquarie TAFE to replace their existing problematic standby generator set.
Located on the mid-north coast of NSW, Port Macquarie TAFE specialises in delivering Massage Therapy, Hospitality, Tourism, Fashion Design, Graphic Design and Electrical and Electronics courses.
The facility had a trouble-prone standby generator set that had issues with cold starts and parts supply in addition to its inability to interface with the Building Management System (BMS).
Port Macquarie TAFE decided to replace the unit with a more sophisticated standby generator set.
Following an enquiry made to Energy Power Systems Australia’s Olympian Power Generation division, Olympian’s North Coast Distributor, All Diesel Equipment Sales & Service was engaged to supply a new 110 kVA turnkey standby power generation plant.
After an evaluation of the site and TAFE’s specific requirements, All Diesel Equipment Sales & Service built their solution around a 110 kVA Olympian GEP110 enclosed generator set.
The new power generator set came with the Power Wizard 1.0 control system, a water jacket heater, battery charger, low fuel monitoring function and a custom-built stainless steel exhaust system in addition to a sound-proofed enclosure.
According to All Diesel Equipment’s Grant Buck, TAFE was impressed with the complete turnkey solution as well as features such as Olympian’s state-of-the-art Power Wizard 1.0 control system that facilitated remote monitoring and communication through their existing Building Management System.
Port Macquarie TAFE was also impressed that the Olympian generator set was built by Caterpillar and supported throughout Australia by Energy Power Systems Australia and Caterpillar dealer networks.
