A patented new packaging technology has seen Barokes’ “Wine in a can” become a finalist in the FOOD Magazine Challenge Awards for the Alcoholic beverages Award, proudly sponsored by Endress + Hauser .

“Wine in a can” was developed to address the needs of wine drinkers who wish to enjoy wine in settings where bottles and glasses are not always practical – such as picnics, nightclubs, and outdoor sporting and entertainment events such as golf, fishing, and cinemas.

Barokes’ patented Vinsafe® wine packaging system - said to be the only patented technology for canning wine - preserves wine at its peak, with minimal preservatives , until such time as it is opened.

“Wine in a can” been awarded star ratings in the Winestate Magazine, as well as a silver medal at the Wine Style Asia Awards in 2004.

Barokes’ “Wine in a can” currently includes the following: Cabernet Shiraz Merlot, Cabernet Shiraz Merlot (bubbly), Chardonnay Semillon, Chardonnay Semillon (bubbly).
