ENDRESS + Hauser has released the self-powered Prosonic Flow 92 portable clamp-on flowmeter.
It offers quick installation, easy set-up and commissioning across a variety of pipeline diameters and construction materials, and has a battery life of up to five hours.
It uses the time-of-flight technology developed for Endress + Hauser's fixed-installation flowmeters. This makes it suitable for the calibration and validation of magnetic and other flowmeters, process optimisation, leak detection, demand analysis and verification and testing.
It has a self-powered data logger and evaluation unit which offers data logging of up to 40,000 measurements as well as data trending capabilities. Data can be downloaded for further analysis through an RS232 interface. To allow the comparison testing of flowmeters, the Prosonic Flow 92 also features a 4mA-20mA input option (typically matching the output of a magnetic flowmeter requiring validation). It cab also store any deviations detected for later analysis.
All that is required to convert the Prosonic Flow 92 to a permanent installation is the replacement of the existing portable evaluation unit with a DMU93 transmitter. No alteration to the sensor set-up is required.
