ENDRESS + Hauser has released the StamoLys CA71 multipurpose analyser for the online monitoring and process optimisation of sewage treatment plants and industrial wastewater.

It can be configured to measure ammonium, nitrite, phosphate and total chlorine in accordance with established and standardised colorimetric procedures. It is a variable-frequency photometric analyser that can be factory-configured to measure any given parameter by presetting the appropriate frequency. While a separate CA71 analyser unit is required to measure each parameter, every unit is identical except for the frequency on which it is being run. This cuts costs for users by significantly reducing both spare parts requirements and training time.

Each analyser unit is contained in a stainless steel or fibreglass reinforced plastic housing. The electronic and analytical unit has a modular construction which provides great flexibility. Since only minimal amounts of reagents are dosed for analysis with precision hose pumps, reagent consumption remains low.

The CA71 has self-cleaning, automatic calibration and turbidity-compensating multibeam photometers, which guarantee precise and reliable measurement with maximum availability. Combined with Endress + Hauser's sample preparation systems, such as plate filters (in situ microfiltration), stationary microfiltration or ultrafiltration, it provides a complete measuring point for applications beyond water and wastewater management. These include electroplating (based on measuring copper), boilerfeed water in power stations (hydrazine), and reverse osmosis plants (silica).
