The new Prosonic M compact ultrasonic level transmitter from Endress + Hauser is said to overcome limitations that have destined ultrasonic level measurement to simple level applications.
Pulsemaster algorithms, increased processing power and high-resolution local graphical programming, allow users to solve complicated applications said to have been previously beyond the capabilities of compact ultrasonic devices.
Ultrasonic non-contact, non-intrusive level measurement in relatively complex applications remains suitable and stable level monitoring principle.
Measuring capability up to 15m in liquids and 7m in solids. Prosonic M offers communication options of HART and Profibus PA as well as Foundation Fieldbus communication.
The local display is a high resolution 4-line, 80-character LCD, which when in configuration mode displays the envelope curve. The envelope curve visually describes the behavior of the transmitted and reflected acoustic pulse inside the vessel and assists the user identify possible problem areas.
IP68 provides 24-hour of protection against 1.8m flooding. Also incorporated is a 32-point linearisation table giving volume capability for odd shaped tanks, as well as open-channel flow measurement.
