Endress + Hauser Australia ’s mobile calibration rig significantly reduces plant downtime by eliminating the need to transport flow measurement instruments to distant flow laboratories for regular calibrations.

Combining flexibility with accuracy and cost-effective operation, it is the first mobile calibration rig in Australia that allows flowmeters, tanks and load cells to be calibrated quickly on-site - often with the Unit Under Test still installed.

Mobile calibration is cost-effective, especially where calibrations need to be carried out on more than one instrument, and accurate to within 0.3%.

An Endress + Hauser's service engineer performs the on-site calibrations, comparing instruments against a certified reference in the master calibration unit.

A calibration certificate is provided, which is traceable to NATA standards.

If any problems are detected with a flowmeter, the service engineer provides a report so that decisions can be made on a course of action.

Endress + Hauser are also able to adjust, repair or replace faulty flowmeters under test at the same time as calibrations are taking place.

The mobile rig is suitable for instruments with line diameters ranging from DN4 to DN80 and can calibrate for volume or mass over a range of 0.01 to 60 m3/hr or 10 - 60,000 kg/hour. Calibration at five different flow rates assures the highest accuracy.

Long-term stability and guaranteed accuracy are essential for flow measurement instruments. The master flowmeter used on the new rig is an Endress+Hauser Promass Coriolis flowmeter, which has ISO 17025 accredited accuracy and stability.

Promass Coriolis flowmeters feature a high level of precision, making them suitable for use in industries such as food and beverage or pharmaceutical, where measuring points affect quality and safety.
