LEVELFLEX M is the next-generation of guided microwave level measurement instruments, available from Endress + Hauser . A number of enhancements have been incorporated that were previously considered impossible to achieve.
The rope thickness has been reduced from 8 and 12mm, to 4 and 6mm since the 'pull-down' force of all fine grained solids has turned out to be less than previously anticipated. The result is longer ropes and lower pricing.
The new rope attachment point can now rotate freely, thereby minimising the problem of rope wind-up in certain applications, and reducing the chances of rope breakage.
The rope is detachable and can be changed if damaged, and also lengthened or shortened if the application changes. The rope can be substituted by a solid rod for liquid level measurement, and for replacement of high maintenance 'displacer' devices in legacy applications.
The ToF Tool concept provides a hi-tech user interface into the operation of the Levelflex M, improving the ease of trouble-shooting, and offering a variety of unique benefits such as freely programmable conversion from level to volume if the vessel dimensions are known (linearisation).
Levelflex M incorporates an end-of-rope algorithm which has the benefit that if the primary reflected signal is lost during very heavy, dusty filling, then a second derived signal is used ensuring continuous, reliable measurement.
Levelflex M is a loop-powered device and requires a maximum of 20 mA of current to operate.
