Level and flow measurement devices

ENDRESS+Hauser will display a broad range of level and flow measurement devices, including the Micropilot FMR250, Prosonic S and Soliphant T, at BULKEX.

Micropilot FMR250 is the company's latest microwave level measuring device for solids applications.

It is a loop-powered, non-contact radar level device with a 70m range, 15mm accuracy, and suitable for operation up to 16-bar process pressure and up to 2000C process temperature, making it the ideal level instrument for a broad range of industries.

The Prosonic S FMU90 is a heavy industry ultrasonic level and open channel flow measuring system. According to Endress+Hauser the FMU90 is ideally suited for accurate level measurement of bulk liquids and solids and replaces the Prosonic FMU 860/1/2 family that was released 12 years ago. The new system incorporates several additional functions and ensures easier model selection, installation and commissioning.

The Prosonic S is available with a range of six remote IP68 sensors, selected by the distance of the level measurement. The FDU91 sensor is for short distances from as little as 300mm to 10m, while at the other end of the range is the FDU96 which operates up to 70m. The transmitter automatically detects which sensor is connected and configures itself accordingly.

The storage and handling of bulk materials such as grain, flour and plastic pellets can be a high-risk activity and demands accurate and reliable level limit detection. A poorly designed high level limit switch may cause an overflow or a spill leading to wastage with an adverse financial and environmental impact.

On the other hand, unreliable low-level measurements may cause inventory problems that negatively affect a company's bottom line. The Soliphant T FTM 20/21 switches from Endress+Hauser provide a cost-effective and reliable solution for high/low level limit detection and overspill protection in silos and bins.

BULKEX 2006 Bulk Materials Handling Exhibition will be held at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre from September 25-27.
