Endress Hauser  have opened a new regional sales office in Gladstone, strategically located in Central Queensland’s coal-rich Bowen Basin area.

Many of the country’s coal mining activity is located in the Bowen Basin in Central Queensland and in the Hunter Valley in New South Wales.

Till recently, Endress+Hauser’s service commitments within Central Queensland were managed through an affiliated representative company.

To consolidate existing client relationships and gain greater market share in the region’s developing process industry sector, Endress+Hauser recently opened their own office and appointed a company-trained sales representative.

As a process measurement specialist, Endress+Hauser already supplies a wide range of instrumentation to the mining and refining sector.

Many of Australia’s large mining companies including Rio Tinto Alumina, BHP Billiton, Comalco, Queensland Alumina, Dyno Noble, Boyne Smelters have already established large refining and processing operations in and around Gladstone.

“The decision to open our own sales office in Gladstone was based on market growth and customer need,” explains John Immelman, Managing Director of Endress+Hauser.

“Increased demand from steel makers in China and India is driving up prices of coal, alumina, nickel, and iron ore. Process companies in Central Queensland are experiencing phenomenal growth. Our new office in Gladstone demonstrates Endress+Hauser’s commitment to providing a comprehensive ‘solutions-based’ service philosophy for all clients,” he adds.

In recent years, the introduction of new measuring principles and refinements to existing measuring methods within the mining sector has markedly benefited Endress+Hauser’s clients through higher productivity and reductions in wastage and costs, delivering a higher return on investment (ROI).
