A NEW, universal DIN rail temperature transmitter, that is fully PC configurable, has been launched by Endress+Hauser Australia. The loop-powered, TMT 121 configuration is suited to the energy and power, paper and pulp industries, and existing intrinsically safe installations.
Insensitive to electromagnetic influences such as drives, motors and generators to NAMUR NE21 standards, eliminating the possibility of interference, with galvanic isolation protection to 2kV, and sensor failure or short circuit information according to NAMUR NE 43 standards, the TMT 121 ensures reliability under the most arduous conditions.
Inputs can be computer selected by the user for RTD, thermocouple, resistance and mV, with accuracies of 0.2k, 0.1 ohm or 20μV reducing the historical extensive spares requirements.
The software configuration tool, Readwin 2000, is freely available from all Endress+Hauser sales offices, or downloadable from www.endress.com.
Other benefits are: loop power, no external power supply and associated costs required; Ex approvals for ATEX, FM, CSA and SAA to follow; online configuration eliminating the need to remove for set-up; environmental condensation is allowed in moist application areas; and extended ambient temperature range from -40°C to +85°C.
