Contaminant Resistant pH Measurement Electrodes for Harsh Conditions
pH Measurement Electrode
Endress+Hauser have developed a new pH Measurement Electrode, the Orbisint CPS11D and the Orbipore CPS91D, which combines the advantage of having a contaminant resistant reference, with short response time and high reproducibility. The unique Ion Trap prevents electrode poisoning.
Applications of the Contaminant Resistant pH Measurement Electrode
- Chemical processes
- Heavily soiled media: solids, emulsions and precipitation
- A robust new pH sensor from Endress+Hauser can now solve the problem of reference contamination commonly experienced during pH measurement in ultra harsh conditions such as slurries, paper and pulp applications
- Suitable when there is high solids content present in paper and pulp, slurries, chemical and mineral leaching applications
Benefits of Orbisint CPS11D and Orbipore CPS91D
- Short response time
- Low maintenance due to gel filling
- Long service life due to new stabilised gel
- Open aperture for application in heavily soiled media
- Extremely insensitive to pressure and temperature variation
- Built in temperature sensor for effective temperature compensation (optional)
Further Benefits offered by Memosens Technology
- Data safety through digital data transmission
- Easy handling due to storage of sensor specific data
- Predictive maintenance possible due to registration of sensor load data
- Maximum process safety through contactless inductive signal transmission
Features of the Orbisint CPS11D and Orbipore CPS91D pH Electrodes
- Utilizing Ion Exchange Technology, Endress+Hauser has placed it in the electrodes’ reference system, guarding the silver chloride wire
- The Ion Exchange Trap intercepts contaminating ions and allows the electrical signal to pass between the chambers without contamination
- Having been proven in long term tests, both models of electrode, the Orbisint CPS11D and the Orbipore CPS91D, are available with Memosens Technology, whereby the signals are transmitted digitally. Memosens Sensors not only store information calibration data, but also fundamentally process the data
- The storage of the calibration data in the sensor means that the electrodes can be cleaned, conditioned and calibrated under optimum laboratory conditions, thereby reducing maintenance time and costs and improving longevity
