Encom Technology launches upgraded version of Geoscience software Encom PA
Encom Technology has launched Encom PA 8.0 which is a recently upgraded version of its integrated Geoscience software solution suite used by companies to visualise their exploration data.
Encom PA 8.0 provides an interactive workplace for geophysicists, geologists, engineers and geochemists to share their data, models and ideas. The Encom PA 8.0 supports a wide range of industry data formats for ground and airborne geophysical surveys, drill hole geology and geochemistry, mine models, geophysical models, remote sensing and GIS.
The new innovations in Encom PA 8.0 include the following :
- A new vector series data object, which is designed to display vector and tensor data in 2D and 3D graphs and maps.
- New Drillhole Creator utility allowing the creation of a series of drillhole collars locations using the point digitising capabilities of the Feature Manager. The Drillhole Creator then produces a drillhole database using drilling depth, dip and azimuth information.
- The data object property capturing system for the Fly-Through Wizard has been improved so that all set data properties for any object visible in a 3D display are now automatically captured from the current object states set in the workspace tree.
- A new look Line Iterator toolbar which includes a new location for the Line Iterator Properties, a change for Line Selection from a visible drop- down list to a new button display, and access to the new Line Report utility for checking the compatibility of survey lines in multiple databases.
- New selectable Line and Point series or Drillhole groups assisting with the feature snapping ability while digitising feature objects in 2D or 3D, producing more accurately positioned objects.
Encom PA 8.0 is available as a fully featured professional version called PA Professional and a fully functional processing and visualisation package named PA Explorer. Both have been designed to be easy to use by supporting drag and drop of 2D and 3D data files into 2D maps and 3D displays. This is achieved through automatic interpretation of industry standard data formats and model objects.
The Encom PA Explorer also includes all visualisation modes for 1D and 2D mapping, 2D sections and 3D data models, including an easy-to-drive 3D fly-through generator. Furthermore, it includes a range of specialised 1D and 2D filter modules, model builders and processing toolkits.
In addition, the PA Professional module extends the capabilities with full 3D model construction and editing, 3D drillhole planner, 3D voxel toolkit and an advanced FFT GeoFilter suite.
A free PA Viewer is also available for distribution to third parties and provides all the tools necessary to visualise, zoom, pan and print any PA Professional or PA Explorer project file. This includes 1D, 2D and 3D modes with any number of active windows. Layers can be turned on or off to highlight specific features and fly-through flight paths can also be activated in 3D mode.
“The new Encom PA 8.0 continues our emphasis on turning exploration into reality by providing a powerful decision making package in which flexibility and ease of use are in-built within the product design strategy right from the start, “ said Kerryn Mitchell, Production Manager for Geophysical Software, Encom Technology.
