Compact portable appliance testing system

New seaward ProTag optima system, supplied by Emona Instruments , is a compact portable appliance and RCD testing, tag printing and record keeping system. ProTag combines the new handheld instrument technology and wireless communications to provide a system that weighs around 2kg and eliminates connection cables between the appliance tester, test tag printer and bar code scanner.

The ProTag optima system comprises of the seaward PrimeTest 300 appliance and RCD tester, ProTag optima test tag printer and BCS-Blue bar code scanner. The PrimeTest 300 carries out all of the tests required under AS/NZS3760 for appliances and leads and carries 30mA RCD tests.

The PrimeTest 300 also operates as a handheld data logging devices by recording any type of test, inspection or risk assessment with user defines inspection routines and an in-built library of measurement and engineering units. This eliminates the need for a PDA or laptop for recording the results of non-electrical inspections and risk assessments.

Each component in the optima system is battery powered and together the system weighs around 2kg. Whether testing construction sites, workshops or factories, the optima system’s portability provides flexible testing and tagging solution, guaranteeing great efficiency, huge time savings and a low cost per test.
