EMERSON Process Management has surpassed sales of half a million Fisher Fieldvue digital valve controllers. More than two dozen patents have been awarded for this product line to date. Introduced in 1994, the microprocessor-based Fieldvue instruments enable users to monitor valve performance online, to collect and trend performance data over time, and to better predict or plan valve maintenance.
At the same time, Emerson reports that it has been awarded a US$13 million contract to install its PlantWeb digital plant architecture in Units 3 and 4 of the Yonghung Thermal Power Plant.
Yonghung, which is owned by Korea South East Power Co. (KOSEP), serves the Seoul metropolitan area and surrounding cities and is the largest coal-fired plant in Korea, with a current generating capacity of 1,600 megawatts.
