EMERSON Process Management has released the Fisher Fieldvue DVC2000 digital valve controller.

It was designed in accordance with NAMUR standards IEC60534-6-1 and IEC60534-6-2. It can be mounted on Fisher actuators as well as other companies’ actuators. A two-stage, pre-amplifier design multiplies small changes in the pneumatic signal. A digital tuning algorithm is used to configure the instrument to suit the actuator.

Magnetic technology in the position feedback system improves DVC2000 reliability on linear and rotary valves. The instrument mounting has been simplified and the instrument can be removed from the valve for maintenance.

The LCD and pushbuttons provide a local user configuration interface that supports English, German, Italian, Spanish, French, Chinese and Japanese. The multilanguage local interface is used to initiate a quick setup routine that calibrates and tunes the instrument to the actuator on which it has been installed. This helps ensure accurate and consistent performance.

Integrated position transmitter and limit switches are optional. They help simplify valve controller selection by reducing the need for additional engineering and specification.

It supports the Fieldvue performance diagnostics capability. The predictive intelligence from the valve controller powers Emerson's PlantWeb digital plant architecture. While the control valve is operating, valve performance information is available to evaluate and make decisions regarding the health of the entire control valve assembly. Information is communicated via AMS ValveLink software or directly to the process automation system. The appropriate personnel view a red-yellow-green snapshot and recommendations on how to correct any problems identified, avoiding unplanned shutdowns.
