Artesyn Embedded Technologies, formerly Emerson Network Power ’s Embedded Computing & Power business, has introduced a new range of compact high power density DC-DC converters for use in various space-critical industrial applications.
The new AXA series of 20W high power density DC-DC converters is recommended for battery-operated equipment, instrumentation, and distributed power architectures in communications and industrial electronics.
Featuring a fully potted and metal cased construction for use in harsh environments, Artesyn AXA series modules can operate in a wide temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. An optional clip-on heat sink extends the thermal performance of the unit in a convection or forced-air environment.
Key features of Artesyn AXA series DC-DC converters include an ultra-wide 4:1 input voltage range of 9 to 36 Vdc and 18 to 75 Vdc; single output models with voltages of 3.3, 5, 12, 15 and 24 V along with dual output models offering ±12 or 15 V, all with tight output voltage regulation; 25.4 x 25.4 x 10.16 mm package; and up to 89 per cent efficiency.
Additional features include overload protection, remote on/off control, input-to-output isolation voltage of 1500 Vdc, and output voltage trimmed by ±10 per cent of nominal output. All models are approved to CSA/NTRL/IEC/EN 60950-1 for IT equipment.
