Emerson Network Power has released ‘Data Center 2025: Exploring the Possibilities’, a new forward-thinking report on the industry’s vision of the data centre in the year 2025.
Summarising four months of global research, the results range from the expected increased utilisation of the cloud, to the ambitious plans for solar-powered data centres with power densities exceeding 50 kW per rack.
Most experts however, agree that the data centre will undergo massive changes over the next decade.
The research study surveyed more than 800 data centre professionals from around the world, with dozens of others contributing their thoughts via interviews, email and video. About 29% of respondents hailed from the Asia Pacific region.
Overall, the feedback indicates a bullish outlook on the data centre industry and continued innovation in the IT space.
