The new AEC-6860 available from Embedded Technologies adopts the Intel Core 2 Duo processor and provides up to 1.68GHz. It now joins the Aaeon Boxer Series, but is recognized as the Boxer 2 to convey that the product has adopted the Core 2 Duo processor and can handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
The AEC-6860 features DDR SODIMM Memory (up to 2G to deal with complicated tasks) and deploys rich video interfaces, which are 1 DVI, 1 LVDS, 1 S-Video and 1 Audio port on the front panel.
In addition, the rich I/O interfaces make the AEC-6860 a flexible expansion. It supports 4 USB, 4 COM (3 RS-232 ports and 1 RS-232/422/485 port), 1 VGA and 1 LAN port on the rear panel.
The AEC-6860 also has an internal Mini PCI slot for expansion.
As a robust embedded controller, Aaeon has vigorously tested the Boxer Series for anti-vibration, anti-shock and has even put it through a severe drop test.
The AEC-6860 has many patents in terms of its heat conduction mechanism. This heat disbursing design makes the AEC-6860 a fanless and powerful embedded controller, making overheating problems a thing of the past.
For entertainment multimedia application purposes, the AEC-6860 supports WLAN, LCD TV and HDTV resolution as well.
The LVDS interface supports dual view and SATA Hard Disk Drive. Its compact size and fanless characteristics are designed to perform even in areas where space is limited.
In addition to entertainment multimedia applications, the AEC-6860 can also be applied to ITS, car parking systems, remote monitoring systems, etc.
