XEMICS, represented by Electronic Development Sales , has released the XE1203 433MHz/868MHz/15MHz license-free ISM band transceiver.
It has a three-wire serial interface to MCU, programmable data rate up to 152.3kbit/s and a programmable RF output up to 15dBm. It also has a sensitivity of -113dBm, quiescent current of 1μA in sleep mode, and a supply voltage from 2.5 to 3.6V. It has an 11-bit Barker encoder/decoder, pattern recognition for wake-up, a bit synchroniser with clock recovery, a received signal strength indicator, and a frequency error indicator.
The XE1203 comes in a 48-lead VQFN package. A maximum of 12 I/O pins are required to interface to a host MCU. All registers can be programmed serially back to back via a three-wire bus by providing an address and data. The XE1203 runs from a 39MHz crystal and can be used as a clock source for an MCU.
