Electrolube Australasia have exhibited and joined industry experts from more than 50 countries at the APEX Expo in Las Vegas. The APEX Expo show proved to be a celebration of printed circuit board and electronics manufacturing and test technology.
Visitors to the APEX Expo show could find technology they needed and were able to meet new suppliers and networked with industry experts easily, and were supplied with important industry standards information, and also gained invaluable information from new research papers and discovered solutions necessary to make manufacturing possible.
Electrolube Australia exhibited two high performance conformal coatings and a peelable coating mask at APEX, along with a full range of cleaners, thermal paste, contact lubricants and resins. NVOC, a VOC free coating, has been carefully developed to achieve above the expectations of a replacement for solvent based conformal coatings.
The diluents chosen in the formulation of NVOC offer a massive reduction in viscosity creating a 100% solids material in a sprayable format, similar to that of solvent based materials but without any VOC emission. The cured coating provides good moisture and chemical resistance.
Also on show was PUC, a flexible, tough polyurethane conformal coating offering good mechanical and dielectric properties. PUC is white spirit based and toluene-free, and with safer solvent coatings. It adheres to a wide variety of substrates and fluoresces under UV light for ease of inspection.
PCS, flexible synthetic acrylic latex with good solvent resistance, is suitable for masking components, connectors and other items during a conformal coating process. PCS is suitable for protecting areas from ingress of conformal coating, for example, pin connectors, adjustable pots and IC sockets. The high film strength of PCS means that it can be peeled by hand without breaking or leaving residues. The coating is water-based and therefore environmentally friendly.
