EDGE Software will be displaying Solid Edge 3D CAD systems at Stand D32 of Automate 2005. Anyone who takes the time for a demonstration of Solid Edge will be placed in a draw to win a copy of Solid Edge Classic.
Solid Edge is developed by UGS and distributed in Australia by Edge Software. Edge Software’s MD Barry Bevis said “In the 16 months we have been involved with Solid Edge, we have seen three new releases of the software, the product is developing so fast and the quality and stability of each new release is truly outstanding; the great thing is that the new features and workflows being added to Solid Edge are true productivity tools for designers and draftspeople. Each month we are seeing the volume of license sales increase and this is predominately from small companies who need a fast return on their investment. We have spent a lot of time developing a methodology of moving 2D CAD users, like Autocad to Solid Edge, and it all starts by ensuring the new Solid Edge user gets the job done today the same as they were using 2D CAD. The big problem for many smaller companies is the risk of moving to 3D, they are concerned with what happens in the time it takes me to learn the new 3D system etc. Our methodology allows the user to move slowly into 3D using the unique hybrid capabilities of Solid Edge”.
