Edge Software , distributor for Solid Edge 3D CAD systems in Australia, will be showing Solid Edge V17 at the Townsville Showground's between the July 26 & 28. Edge Software is an exhibitor at the Northern Industry Trade Show, part of the Townsville Industry Week.
Solid Edge, developed by UGS, is distributed in Australia by Edge Software whose business is totally dedicated to Solid Edge and complementary products.
Barry Bevis, MD for Edge Software, said in the 16 months Edge had been involved with Solid Edge, he had seen three new releases of the software.
“The product is developing so fast and the quality and stability of each new release is truly outstanding; the great thing is that the new features and workflows being added to Solid Edge are true productivity tools for Designers and Draftspeople,” he said.
“Each month we are seeing the volume of license sales increase and this is predominately from small companies who need a fast return on their investment.
“We have spent a lot of time developing a methodology of moving 2D CAD users, like Autocad, to Solid Edge, and it all starts by ensuring the new Solid Edge user gets the job done today the same as they were using 2D CAD.
“The big problem for many smaller companies is the risk of moving to 3D, they are concerned with what happens in the time it takes me to learn the new 3D system etc. Our methodology allows the user to move slowly into 3D using the unique hybrid capabilities of Solid Edge.”
