Ecotech ’s MicroVol 1100 meets the new Australian Standards for determination of suspended particulate matter AS/NZS 3580.9.9:2006 (PM10) and AS/NZS 3580.9.10:2006 (PM2.5).
The MicroVol 1100 Particulate Sampler provides a flexible sampling platform for PM10, PM2.5 or TSP particulate sampling. The MicroVol 1100 sampler is microprocessor controlled, and features internal data storage. The MicroVol 1100 sampler incorporates ambient temperature and pressure sensors, which are used to automatically maintain a constant volumetric flow rate of 3 l/min through a 47 mm filter.
The MicroVol 1100 can be operated from a variety of different power sources, which include AC power, an optional battery pack or solar panel, enabling the sampler to be installed in a wide variety of applications.
The MicroVol includes an input port for wind speed and direction, and two additional analogue inputs for other information. These inputs are averaged and stored in the unit, and may be used as triggers for conditional sampling, which makes the sampler ideal for fence line sampling at mine sites.
The sampler’s integral data logger stores data that includes filter and time based information including total volume sampled, start and end times/dates, average wind speed and direction and two external inputs. Time based records are stored at user selectable intervals and include time and date, average temperature, pressure, wind speed, velocity and direction information. Values stored in the sampler may be viewed on the display or downloaded through the RS232 port.
A new version of the MicroVol 1100WS, now has the capacity to act as a micro weather station, as it is able to measure and datalog wind speed and direction, relative humidity and temperature. Data can be retrieved remotely using a modem.
The MicroVol is quiet enough to be used at indoor sampling locations to assess human exposure to PM, and is housed in a weatherproof enclosure for outdoor sampling in a range of environments.
