Eco Whisper Turbines Pty Ltd is installing its first commercial wind turbine for connection to the grid near Tullamarine in Melbourne.
One of the quietest 20kW wind turbines in the world, the Eco Whisper turbine is produced by Queensland-based Renewable Energy Solutions Australia (RESA). The 30-blade Eco Whisper wind turbines are designed for noiseless operation, producing up to 30% more power than conventional 3-bladed turbine designs. A single turbine can produce sufficient power for three average-sized homes.
Eco Whisper wind turbines are ideal for mid-sized facilities and can replace diesel generation systems with their ability to collect wind more efficiently and operate in both high and low wind conditions.
RESA chief executive Tony Le Messurier believes that the Eco Whisper turbine will revolutionise delivery of renewable energy supply to midsize commercial, manufacturing or industrial facilities, particularly in rural or remote locations that rely on diesel systems.
A huge advancement in wind power technology, Eco Whisper is well suited to meet the energy needs of organisations who are currently seeking to lower their carbon footprint and respond to the new carbon pricing regime.
The Tullamarine installation is the culmination of two years of testing and development for Eco Whisper, which was launched in October 2011. It follows a pilot demonstration at the manufacturer’s facility in Geelong.
Eco Whisper was a finalist in the 2011 Australian Cleantech Awards and has been awarded a $250,000 commercialisation grant from the Federal Government, part of which will go into the development of a 5kW model.
Meet the CEO of Eco Whisper at the Wholesale Investor Capital Showcase being held on Wednesday 4th of April, 2012 at PwC Offices, Brisbane Riverside.
