Easyprint TM thermal transfer printer now has 800 metre ribbon capacity.
The important driver in reducing labelling costs is the length of ribbon user chooses to use. This is because the cost of time required to replace the ribbon on a thermal transfer printer is expensive. For this reason, Easyprint seeks to develop printers that are capable of using big rolls of ribbon possible.
The Easyprint TM model, developed especially for installation on thermoforming packaging machines, such as Multivac and Tiromat, has had its ribbon capacity increased from 600 metres to 800 metres (when using standard ribbons). This result in a significant reduction in the number of stoppages required.
Added to this, the Easyprint TM model is capable of utilising the Easyprint patented ribbon saving program, which compresses prints. In other words, the print in user’s ribbon is smaller (by up to 20 % for the TM model) than what can be actually printed. This means that an 800 metre roll of ribbon fitted to a TM printer operating at 20 % ribbon economy, actually ends up using a 960 metre colour ribbon.
