ARSAPE have released two new stepper motors suitable for applications where µA (Micro-Ampere) current consumption is the key requirement. These stepper motors series ASP, available from Erntec , are designed to offer minimum current consumption possible by utilising rare earth magnets.
These magnets also permit an extended operating temperature ranging from –40°C to +85°C. The single phase stepper motor ASP 006 features a step angle of 60° with an output torque of 20 µNm while the type ASP 124 has a step angle of 15° and an output torque up to 75 µNm. The ASP 124 motor utilises an integrated gearwheel to transmit the unidirectional rotary actuation.
These stepper motors are suitable for all applications where the required operation speed ranges from a few steps/month to 16 steps/second. With auto-commutation the speed can even be higher.
This motor series of ARSAPE offers system designers who use battery, capacitor or solar cell based power to include, along with their low consumption processors, mechanical functions normally not possible with other motor technologies.
