HIGH performance athletes, the AFL's most successful football team (the Brisbane Lions), mountaineers and sports medicine practitioners are just some of the users of the Intermittent Hypoxic Training (IHT) equipment developed in Australia and manufactured in Melbourne by Biomedtech Australia Pty Ltd.

Several competitors at the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Melbourne will be using the Biomedtech GO2Altitude or AltiPower low oxygen (hypoxic) air breathing equipment to enhance their endurance, performances and general well being.

To support the company’s continual growth, Biomedtech's operations manager Derek Smits embarked on the quest to find an Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) software program to support the business.

"I reviewed a number of readily available ERP packages before settling on M1 by B & G developed and supported locally by Bowen & Groves ,” said Mr Smits.

"I concluded from my study that this software represented the best fit for a company of our size plus it had easy upgrade routes and additional modules we could employ as our business growth continues.

M1 by B & G was finally selected over three other ERP software platforms.

Mr Smits was impressed by the level of online and personal support offered by Bowen & Groves and their understanding of the needs of a fast growing small to medium scale manufacturing business.

Another important benefit of M1 is the system’s support of immediate quality accreditation needs of the Biomedtech products.

"In order to be able to use our hypoxic products in the medical area, we need to obtain approval under the local Therapeutic Goods Administration standards,” explained Mr Smits.

"Consequently, product traceability and production control are key issues for us.

"The M1 by B & G advanced bill of materials module for instance is important to the accreditation process.

"Biomedtech like many small to medium sized companies had a reasonable level of computing and information technology and we found commissioning and implementation of the ERP program was easily achieved,” said Mr Smits.

"We are progressively employing more of the individual modules of the

M1 by B & G platform."

The M1 ERP software offers comprehensive modules designed and fully supported to meet the needs of growing manufacturing businesses.

With more than 450 installed sites around the world and a comprehensive user group interface, ERP Software has never been more affordable or beneficial.
