Vibration level switch for low densities
ECEFast has released the Hitrol HM921 solid state sensor for level detection in media as low as SG 0.6.

It operates on the vibration principle where a rod is held at its natural frequency by a control module. Any damping applied to the rod alters its natural frequency and this is detected by the electronics.
The resulting switch signal can be used for control or alarm of many solids and liquids in bins or hoppers.
Operating at pressures of up to 10 bar and temperatures to 80°C [optional 100°C], the 304 SS sensor is suitable for harsh situations.
The process connection is 1-inch NPT and the power supply is 110/240V ac. Special rods can be supplied for very low density powders and granules.
The HTM 921 is one of a series of level switches for industrial applications. It is believed to be the only vibrating switch using rod type sensors available in Australia.
