THE 9500 series of pressure transducers from Gems Sensors, represented by ECEFast , has been designed specifically to meet the rigorous conditions and accuracy requirements of hydrometric applications such as ground water monitoring.
In addition the 9500 series can be used to replace mercury manometers, which represent a health hazard, and also shaft encoders where they are being used for level measurement.

Water will become a major issue in this decade, and place an increasing demand on the acquisition of accurate hydrometric data, the key to efficient management of resources.
The quantity and quality of groundwater must be monitored, as well as inputs and outputs such as rainfall, evaporation and soil moisture. This means that accurate, reliable readings are required to ensure the integrity of the data.
The remote nature of most applications means that battery powered data loggers using SDI-12 protocols are commonly used to collect data from up to eight sensors.
The Gems Series 9500 incorporates the latest microprocessor based digital compensation techniques combined with an ultra-stable media isolated sensor to provide not only best in class accuracy but also lowest current draw to maximise battery life.
This makes it an ideal choice for level measurement where SDI-12 loggers are being used. The 9500 also provides a temperature output to ±0.5°C.
In addition to the SDI-12 output the 9500 is available with a high accuracy 4-20mA analogue output. Both options offer the customer simple installation and rangeability via a pc interface module, which negates the need for the units to be calibrated against dead-weight testers.
This will minimise installation time and with the built-in SG compensation means the unit has a total error band of <0.1% over -5 to 45°C.
The 9500 has a diameter of only 20mm, a slim profile designed specifically to provide maximum usability in groundwater applications.
It is rated for operation from -25 to +70°C and is constructed in 316 stainless steel, polyurethane and acetyl.
Other applications for the 9500 include tank level monitoring and also oceanographic applications such as tide monitoring, offshore platform leveling and R.O.V depth control.
