Radar is a proven and effective level measurement technology for level sensors, especially in difficult conditions. Unlike conventional level sensor technology that uses ultrasonic sensors, readings by guided wave radar are unaffected by environmental conditions such as gas, temperature or pressure.
BM Technologie level sensors depend only on the Dielectric Constant K of the material being measured, be it solid or liquid, resulting in reliable results.
Guided wave radar level sensors work when microwave pulses generated by the instrument are transmitted down the wire and partially reflected at the transition to the material being measured. The system is very effective in narrow spaces and accurate to within 10mm in 30 metres.
BM Technologie offers a comprehensive range of CW (continuous wave) and GW (Guided Wave) radar level transmitters covering measurements to 70 metres with temperatures to 400ºC and pressures to 40bar. Most include HART communications and a graphical interface for visualisation of the pulse echoes.
The display and programming system allows the operator to assist the software to recognise false echoes, and to help with optimised alignment or position of the transmitter.
