SVS05 power distribution systems from E-T-A ElectroTechnical Applications deliver reliable overcurrent protection and optimised power distribution, making them suitable for use in a range of industries and automation technology.

Comprising an intelligent sub-system on a lower control level, SCS05 systems feature integral comprehensive communication of operating status and failures as well as switching and resetting of individual circuits of the DC 24V level via AS-i bus.

These power distribution systems can be individually adjusted to suit customer requirements, and hence are well suited for use in a range of industries, including:

  • process control
  • chemicals
  • pharmaceuticals and foodstuffs
  • power plants
  • steel works; and
  • the automotive industry.
Every breaker or protector in SVS05 systems is assigned to two terminal blocks with four spring-loaded terminals each for the protected Plus and 0V of the load lines.

Four load circuits can be directly connected so that the DC 24V control voltage is wired via these power distribution systems, which saves costs and time.

Spring-loaded terminals for the individual load outputs also function as potential disconnection terminals with troubleshooting.

Within a typical setup, yellow bifilar cables transmit fault conditions related to the eight circuits to the PLC. Using the same AS-i bus, electronic circuit breakers or protectors within the system can receive a remote reset or ON/OFF command after a disconnection caused by an overload.

For single signal wiring of SCS05 power distribution systems, only the bifilar AS-i bus cable is connected, rather than the 18 cables normally required for signalling and control. The two AS-i modules allow a simultaneous transfer of signalling and controlling signals.
