E-T-A's capacitive level sensor NR 260 further extends the company’s product range of capacitive level sensors. It is an extremely robust and high-quality device particularly designed for use in fuel cells.

This seminal application requires level sensors that can stand extremely high pressure as well as temperature differences.

The device is used for measurement in the de-ionised water container. The accumulating de-mineralised water, a waste product of the energy production in the fuel cell, has to be pumped off reliably in accordance with exact specifications to ensure impeccable operation of the entire unit.

For this purpose, the NR260 is made of the stainless steel material Hastelloy C4, the capacitive sensor element itself is sheathed with a special enamel layer.

This allows use of the sensor in the chemical industry as well, since these materials are resistant even against very aggressive media.

The device meets the requirements of protection class IP68, indicating that the NR260 is reliably protected against penetration of water, steam and finest dust, including the connectors - a pre-requisite for faultless operation.
