PED compliant and CE marked flow indicators (28-Sep-2006)
FLOWPOINTS' flow indicators, available from Duff and Macintosh , can be used to check for the presence of a liquid where there is intermittent flow, partially filled lines, or entrained air. They can be used in vertical or horizontal lines.
The new Sample Sentry II (1-Sep-2006)
Monitoring of steam and water from the steam power generation process has gone through many stages. The design of sampling probes, sample lines, sample coolers, the number of points sampled, methods for pressure reduction, and the analytical tests performed on each sample source have all become more complex.
Submersible level sensors (30-Aug-2006)
SENSORTECHNICS' new submersible pressure transmitter series KTE3000CS, from Duff & MacIntosh Pty Ltd, offers high precision hydrostatic level measurement for pressure ranges from 2.5 m water column (250 mbar). The housing material is manufactured from a highly chemical resistant PPS plastic.
Mass and liquid flow meters (3-Aug-2006)
ALICAT Scientific’s portable mass flow meters and liquid flow meters utilise a battery pack with a standard 9 volt battery to make metering gas flow, pressure, or water flow in the field, and in the lab, convenient and reliable. They are distributed by Duff & MacIntosh P/L.
Level sensor with rugged stainless steel housing (31-Jul-2006)
SENSORTECHNICS' new KTE6000CS series, available from Duff & MacIntosh P/L, offers level measurement for ranges from 2.5 m water column (250 mbar) Full Scale. KTE6000CS hydrostatic pressure transmitters consist of highly accurate and long-term stable pressure sensor elements.
Solving flow rate measurement problems (20-Jul-2006)
INFLUX Measurements have designed a viscosity insensitive flow element in order to solve the problem of measuring the flow rate of hot oil from a process heat exchanger, where the process temperatures could range between 50 and 200ºC. It is available from Duff & MacIntosh Pty Ltd.
Detecting ultrasonic leaks (20-Jul-2006)
AS the name suggests, ultrasonic leak detectors detect the ultrasonic sound of a leak. Large leaks make hissing sounds; smaller leaks also emit sound, however the volume is too low, and frequency too high for our ears to detect it. AccuTrak translates the ultrasonic hissing sound to a lower frequency.
Barometric pressure sensors for OEM applications (18-Jul-2006)
SENSORTECHNICS' new barometric pressure sensors BSDX-BARO from Duff & MacIntosh Pty Ltd offer OEM customers very cost-effective and precise air pressure measurement in the range of 800...1100 mbar absolute. Other measuring ranges are also available on customer request.
Ultra low-flow mass flow controllers (14-Jul-2006)
Alicat Scientific has recently announced its intention to begin working in the semiconductor space by introducing its line of ultra-low flow (0.5SCCM - 50SCCM) Alicat Mass Flow Controllers to the semiconductor manufacturing industry.
Flow indicators (13-Jul-2006)
Flowpoints Flow Indicators can be used to check for the presence of a liquid where there is intermittent flow, partially filled lines or entrained air. They can be used in vertical or horizontal lines. Flow Indicator bodies are cast in either carbon steel or 316 stainless steel.
Glass tube variable area meters (12-Jul-2006)
Glass tube variable area meters give the most cost-effective method of accurate fluid flow measurement in both gases and liquids. Now Influx Measurements has taken this technique further by monitoring the float position in the glass tube using a field sensor.
Equipment health monitoring systems (3-Jul-2006)
The concept of equipment health monitoring is a simple one. Monitor the steady state conditions of your equipment. If these characteristics conditions worsen, generate an alarm, investigate the problem and make a correction before the fault becomes so serious that a plant is shut down, production is lost and costs spiral.
Glass VA meters (27-Jun-2006)
THE new EL series glass VA meters from Influx feature an extended scale, 170mm long, providing increased resolution for easier accurate measurement in the laboratory. Standard scale markings are available for water, air and a number of the more common gas types.
Equipment health monitoring systems (23-Jun-2006)
HONEYWELL has introduced a range of equipment health monitoring (EHM) system detectors developed specifically to monitor industrial equipment for operating condition variances that can lead to breakdowns, increased maintenance costs and production stoppages.
Novel meter measures low pressure gas flow (21-Feb-2006)
INFLUX Measurements have solved the design problem of achieving economic flow measurement for low pressure gases, typically met on methane or sour gas monitoring from digesters. Available from Duff & Macintosh Pty Ltd, the Influx product is a stainless steel Flotrak VA meter, fitted with a PTFE float.
Silicon pressure sensors (27-Sep-2005)
HONEYWELL silicon pressure sensors are small, low cost, and reliable. They feature excellent repeatability, high accuracy, and reliability under varying environmental conditions. The sensors are suitable for medical equipment such as respiration, dialysis, infusion pump; HVAC, data storage and gas chromatography equipment. They are available from Duff & MacIntosh.
Control engineering education for the real world (20-Sep-2005)

BRISTOL Equipment, represented in Australia by Duff and Macintosh, has released the Isolok series samplers. The devices draw measured samples of fluids, slurries, pastes, creams, and powders.
Bonded element industrial pressure transducer (9-Jul-2002)
THE new bonded element (BE) general-purpose industrial pressure transducer was developed for a variety of pressure applications and industries; providing excellent media compatibility with all stainless steel wetted parts.
Economical spinner flow indicator (19-Mar-2002)
DUFF and Macintosh has released the VISTA-spinner flow indicator combining the advantages of a spinner flow indicator with the cost savings of a gun-metal glass domed flow indicator. The VISTA-spinner can be installed at any angle.
Automatic ultrasonic leak detection (13-Mar-2002)
THE AccuTrak model VPX-WR with DND (dynamic noise discrimination) technology is claimed to be the first and only ultrasonic technology to analyse a broad spectrum of ultrasound, and select the proper frequency band of the leak sound automatically.
