Dueltek Computer Products has announced it now stocks version 1.2 of DisplayPort digital display interfaces.
Intended to be used primarily between a computer and its display monitor, the display interfaces have been supported on all current Mac models since October 2009.
DisplayPort version 1.1 digital display interfaces delivered up to 10.8Gbps of bandwidth over standard cables, providing billions of colours, fast refresh rates and high colour depths.
Version 1.2 of the display interfaces offers many new benefits to the end user, which include:
- double the data rate of v1.1a up to 21.6 Gbps (enabling higher performance 3D stereo displays)
- multiple monitor support from a desktop or notebook using only one DisplayPort connector; and
- the ability to transport USB data between a PC and display, supporting display USB functions such as a webcam and USB hub.
