TOUGH but lightweight wet area furniture and channel grating systems that won't crack, split or corrode are being introduced by Dotmar EPP for commercial poolside, health and leisure areas and industrial washdown and wet rooms.
The non-toxic and UV stable Leisure-Tec Polystone thermoplastic products weigh about an eighth of steel equivalents but can't rust, are permanently colourfast and are highly resistant to a wide range of chemicals, foods and by-products.
The non-slip, hygienic and maintenance-free Leisure-Tec channel grating and wet area furniture - both already in service at the Penrith Regional Indoor and Aquatic Centre, Ripples - are produced from stock as grids, flow-over grates, channels and seating, or to order as special-purpose furniture and accessories for change rooms.
Dotmar product specialist Dimitri Virski says the easily installed anti-slip Polystone can be used to produce many different styles of bench seating, clothes hangars and specialised wet room accessories.
"The material has outstanding safety and practical advantages. Its permanent colour coding, non-toxicity high electrical insulation value and no jagged edges to injure people make it eminently safe for use around wet areas.
“It is water repellant, won't rot, swell, delaminate or corrode, and is scuff-resistant and easily cleaned for reduced maintenance demands".
Manufactured in straight and bendable sections for curves, Polystone Leisure-Tec Channel Grating is available in standard 1200mm lengths, 8mm slots and widths from 100-300mm. Edge configurations can be custom-made to suit particular pool designs and shapes.
Both Leisure-Tec channel grating and wet area furniture are available in standard colours such as red, green, yellow and blue with stippled or plain surfaces.
Customised colours are available to indicate safety considerations, for example, or particular areas of an industry's operation.
A full range of product dimensions is available, and product dimensions can also be customised to particular needs.
