DOTMAR EPP has released Polystone 500 and Polystone P7000 (UHMW-PE), engineering plastics that are clean and self-lubricating, with high abrasion and impact-resistance. They are suitable for food preparation, packaging, bottling and conveying industries, where they are an alternative to wood and metal.

Polystone 500 is suitable for cutting boards, gears, cogs, wheels and guides in the food industry. It is one eighth the weight of steel and has a broad chemical resistance combined with water repellence, minimising the risk of bacterial and fungal growth. It can be washed with clean hot water without rotting or corrosion and it is kind to knives, making it a suitable food preparation surface that outlasts wood. It is available in natural white in 2m x 1m sheets.

Polystone 7000 provides wear and sliding abrasion resistance, with a low coefficient of friction resulting in efficient packaging machine components such as star-wheels, guides and feeds.

It is suitable for high-speed lines handling printed cans or intricate labels without scratching. Noise and impact vibration are greatly reduced. It is available in natural white in rods with diameters from 10mm to 250mm and in and sheets measuring 2m x 1m. Other sizes are available.
