Dotmar adds Malco conveyor strengths
AUSTRALIAN high performance plastics engineering specialist Dotmar EPP has substantially expanded its family of materials handling and product processing capabilities by acquiring Malco Industrial Products.

Dotmar EPP marketing director Bruce Armstrong says the long-established and widely respected Malco ranges of low-friction chains, belts and conveyor system components strongly complement Dotmar EPP's expertise in major industries and engineering disciplines.
"Malco's strengths and expertise, built up over many years, plus its distribution of world renowned materials handling systems such as System Plast (Flexon) and Eurobelt, are an outstanding fit with our own national network's expertise in important industries,” he said.
“The Malco MAC chain products are highly relevant to the timber industry and Malco STP chain is widely employed in waste water treatment.
"The combination of Dotmar EPP and Malco expertise now enables us to present an even more formidable package of integrated skills, extending from the design, specification and fabrication of materials handling systems, through to the delivery of complete systems involved in containment, conveying and lifting and loading in internal transfer systems."
The flagship brands acquired with Malco include one of Europe's most advanced systems of low-friction non-metallic metallic chains and belts, Flexon / System Plast, which is used for beverage, brewing , bottling, canning and packaging applications.
Flexon NG (new generation) System Plast material for chain and modular belts is a revolutionary step in plastics that has great advantages in conveyor applications, offering wear life double that of conventional low friction products while delivering higher pressure and velocity limits to give better speeds and extremely low noise without powdering.
System Plast's acetyl-based technology is complemented by Eurobelt's polypropylene systems, a modular advanced design based on more than 25 years experience in demanding applications typically involving caustic washes, such as the handling of meat, fish, fruit, vegetables and other primary produce.
"Important also to Dotmar EPP's expanded product and technology mix is the expertise of Okartek , a contract manufacturer of technical plastic products and components including OKARROLL multi directional rollers," says Mr Armstrong.
