Australian high performance plastics engineering specialist Dotmar EPP has established a major presence in New Zealand through the acquisition of Engineering Plastics Ltd, EPL
Dotmar EPP, the leading supplier of engineering thermoplastics in stock shapes and components in Australia, has added EPL’s operations in Auckland, Palmerston North and Christchurch to its own five state branches in Australia
EPL, a NZ industry leader established in 1975, will trade as Dotmar Engineering Plastics Ltd from December 1, says the Managing Director of Dotmar EPP.
The merger of the two industry leaders will deliver benefits on both sides of the Tasman, with EPL’s strong technical skills and locally experienced staff complementing Dotmar’s leading edge technical innovation, products and capabilities built up since 1967.

Distribution of some of the world’s leading thermoplastics ranges, encompassing acetals, AEPP, coated fabric, Nylons, PE, PETP, polycarbonate, polypropylene, Polyslide, PVC, and PVDF. PTFE, PEEK, DCP Conveyor, Malco Chain, DCP Oratek, pipe fittings, UHMWPE and custom-formulated plastics.
Application solutions extending across industries including automotive, production and process engineering: building and construction (inc cranes); electrical and electronic engineering; food and packaging; infrastructure; manufacturing; materials handling (inc bulk handling and conveyors); mining; resources; primary production processing (inc high purity and safety surfaces); water and waste water
Custom engineering services, with partnering relationships that enhance distribution and provide technical centres alongside its own facilities, for machining, design and application advice.
Application of the company’s products extends across the industrial spectrum, from high speed conveying of food, beverage and primary products to the design and manufacture of bushes, bearings and non-stick surfaces for manufacturing, including materials handling, lifting equipment, mining and resources.
EPL’s complementary areas of focus include a full range of engineering plastics (including Orkot and Rulon), a full range of sealing solutions and specialist services to industry engaged in bottling, canning and food processing. Sealing solutions include O-rings, back-up rings, hydraulic seals, pneumatic seals, wear rings, bonded seals, and the manufacture and design of specialist seals. EPL is extensively known and respected for its expertise in food processing, bottling and canning. EPL is the New Zealand importer of world renowned products such as Regina Chains, Solus conveyor components.
EPL’s bottling, canning and food processing expertise is complemented and extended by Dotmar’s distribution of world class materials handling systems, such as the System Plast (Flexon) and Eurobelt systems used by industries including automotive, beverages, bottling, brewing, canning, food and primary product processing, packaging, manufacturing, mining, OEM conveyor builders and packaging. Dotmar’s Malco MAC chain products are highly relevant to the timber industry and Malco STP chain is widely employed in waste water treatment
