PSD off-road air cleaners

DONALDSON has introduced a range of aftermarket PSD air cleaners with patented PowerCore filtration technology suitable for a broad range of off-road equipment operating in medium-dust conditions - including equipment such as excavators, screeners, 4-wheel drives and more.

Twice the amount of filter media.

PowerCore filters have twice the amount of filter media as conventional pleated media used in traditional engine filtration solutions.

The upgraded air cleaner is designed for greater dust holding capacity and is three times more efficient than standard cellulose pleated media with no impact upon engine performance (airflow) compared to the originally installed air induction system.

Donaldson PowerCore PSD08 and PSD09 air cleaners which are suitable for engine flow ranges up to 370cfm are now available, with larger models suitable for higher airflows up to 1060cfm becoming available in the next few months.

As an alternative to larger-sized conventional filters, Donaldson's compact PowerCore has a straight-through airflow and high-density filtration system that reduces restriction and extends filter life, reducing overall maintenance costs.

To meet manufacturer's demand for a compact, high-performance air filtration solution, today's heavy equipment and truck engines are running hotter in a more confined amount of space due to more streamlined designs, stricter exhaust emissions regulations and increased horsepower.

PowerCore is noticeably different in shape, colour and style and has a compact, metal-free, cartridge-style design that traps contaminants inside its structure for cleaner and easier servicing.

The product uses Donaldson's RadialSeal technology - an advanced and reliable seal.

PowerCore technology's major advantages include higher efficiency than average conventional air filters, improved engine protection and contaminant encapsulation, and flexibility in filter shape and intake systems design and application. This advanced technology reduces the amount of filter space and thus the size of the air cleaner.

Larger conventional filters require clearance space for proper air flow. They also have a hollow centre to allow the filtered air to exit the engine. Donaldson PowerCore eliminates the need for these wasted spaces by combining high-density filter media packaging with a straight-through flow design. The combination results in significant size reduction options which other filtration technologies cannot offer.

Because of its shape options and smaller size, the Donaldson PowerCore air cleaner assemblies have more mounting options than conventional air intake systems.

An intake system designed with Donaldson PowerCore media technology can utilise options such as a pre-cleaner, vacuator valve or scavenge line, and safety filter to enable greater engine protection and system efficiency for peak performance in all conditions.
