DOMINION Electronics has announced the latest single-board computer from Z-World – the BL2500 Coyote.
The BL2500 Coyote computer gives designers low-cost embedded control for high-volume applications such as product control, factory equipment control, access control, HVAC, and vending machines.
Two standard models — one with Ethernet, one without — feature the Rabbit 3000 microprocessor at 29.4MHz, with 256K Flash and 128K SRAM (standard).
Customised BL2500 models can be manufactured to user-specified configurations in volumes of more than 500. Customisation helps OEMs realise an extremely low cost, yet maintain a reliable and rugged industrial solution.
The pin-compatible RabbitCore modules provide multiple configurations on the BL2500 Coyote, including Ethernet, non-Ethernet, and memory options.
Features include eight digital inputs; eight digital high current sinking outputs; two 9-bit PWM analogue output channels; five serial ports; and four user-configurable LEDs.
Options include 10/100Base-T and 44.2 MHz clock with512K Flash/512K program + 256K data SRAM; backup battery (1000mA×h); and 16 digital inputs.
Programs are developed using Z-World's Dynamic C software development system. An extensive library of drivers and sample programs is provided, along with royalty-free TCP/IP stack with source.
Systems with built-in 10Base-T or 10/100Base-T Ethernet can be directly controlled and monitored across networks or the internet, and can also open sockets to remote devices, serve Web pages, or send e-mail.
All Coyote models can be programmed and debugged over Ethernet/internet using appropriate accessory hardware.
